This is how we share our Salon Terms

Hello Reader,

Happy Monday!

I hope you're starting the week with a fresh vibe. We published a blog about Salon Terms & Conditions a long time ago, and interestingly, this blog keeps getting lots of attention and we have received numerous follow up requests.

We've decided to send a couple of emails answering these questions & requests, and here is one: "What are some ways we can share Salon T&Cs to ensure clients are fully aware of them?"

You've probably seen them—TikTok or Reels of clients complaining about salon policies that are too confusing or even non-existent.

How do you balance communicating policies without overwhelming clients?

Too much, and it feels like you’re bombarding them; too little, and you risk misunderstandings. So, what’s the best way to ensure your terms are clear without being intrusive?

Let's explore some straightforward placements to share your salon terms effectively, ensuring they are seen but not overbearing.

During Booking: Add a link to your T&C on the booking confirmation page. This way, clients can review them as they book their appointment. This can be a simple check box, with a link to the T&Cs.

Confirmation Emails: Include a link to your terms in every confirmation email. A gentle reminder of the terms helps manage expectations and reduces last-minute surprises.

In Your Salon: Consider having a printed copy or a digital display available in your salon. This can be useful for clients who might want to review these while they wait (this can work well if you have a waiting/ reception area).

On Your Website: Update your website's footer to include a link to the T&C. Clients often look here for more information.

We hope these help, and are available to provide more indepth tutorials; feel free to send us a message.

If you also manage events or provide off-site services and other gigs such as weddings, it's even more important to have a solid agreement in place. It's not just about sharing your policies but making sure they're formally acknowledged.

We use PandaDoc for this. It's a tool that can turn your policies into singable documents, making the agreement process with your clients smooth and professional. It's easy to use and can save you a lot of time with paperwork, so you can focus more on your clients. We have a blog here, discussing such tools.

If you're interested, give PandaDoc a look.
